Full-body reference picture for Raphael, my schizophrenic scientist from the Adrianverse. He's a Legionnaire - about 500 years old - and has made the majority of scientific contributions to that world. He's their Newton, Mendel, Einstein, Galileo, etc., all rolled up into one. The vampirism affects his schizophrenia in a positive way, causing it to go into recession every once in a while. He isn't very fond of it, though, because by the time he adjusts to a quieter life, the schizophrenia kicks in. He mostly just talks to himself calmly, but suffers from delusions and paranoia during the worst of it. He's prone to hurting himself during those times, hence the tears in his labcoat.
The majority of what he writes in his lab notebooks is unreadable nonsense, and yet over the years he's managed to fit in books upon books' worth of mathematical proofs, theories on gravity and quantum mechanics, as well as detailed and biological and genetic data. Not to mention the chemistry.
His name is on practically every science and math textbook, even for the Lanothans. They don't complain too much, though. They're lucky he even shares the information with them, but he believes that information should never be kept secret. Of all the Legionnaires, Raphael is probably the most neutral--mostly because he's not entirely aware there's a war going on.
"Vonkirche" means "of the church", and the surname, as well as "Raphael" was given to him once Aaron found him in the monastery he was destroying. Aaron knew something was a little different when instead of running away from him like the monks did, Raphael ran straight to him and then hid behind him, so Raphael got to stay with him.. His old name was Edmond, and his true last name is unknown.
Time: Couple of hours. Medium: Pencil sketch and then some fotoshoppe. Scanner sucks and blurred the left edge. x_x

Very interesting character - I like the pose and coloring, though his top body looks a little off from his bottom body...the two don't seem as well connected or something. Could just be me though. Good work

I noticed the same thing, but thanks for pointing it out so that I know I'm not the only one. ^^ I have a suspicion that it scanning it crooked didn't help either.
I'm glad you like the rest of it though! Raphael is...special.
