 It's her original character, Ezra, from a novel that she's writing. He's a genetically-engineered hybrid, and that's all you need to know. I don't want to spoil anything. ^^ She requested this ages ago and I've just now finished it because I suck. XD That tree was the most time-consuming thing of the entire picture. I can't quite decide whether I like the look of the scales on him best, or the apparent softness of his ruff. Both are fantastic looking, with a lot of texture.
I am really intrigued by your interpretation of his eyes, though. Rather Asian looking. Sort of. Almost. Quite unique, at any rate.
